Eternity divided by time. Everything else is experience. New York based artist John D. Murphy merges the ephemeral stasis of La Monte Young's infamous piece Composition 1960 #7 with the basic elements of Techno music. The repetitiveness of a four quarter beat compliments two synthesizers in different keys creating a mesmerizing meditation. On his second variation Murphy gives his machines more room to breath opening much more subtle sonic spaces to dive in.
